Cavalcante is a famous town located in Brazil. The town is home to many breathtaking attractions such as canyons, rock formations, pools and waterfalls. One such spot is “Cachoeira Santa Barbara”. This 30-meter high waterfall is considered as a “hidden gem” of Santa Barbara that enthralls the visitors with its breathtaking turquoise colored natural pool. Surrounded by lush greenery, the temperature of the pool changes with the season. The waterfall is one of the few in the region due to which it allows only a limited number of visitors with a maximum stay of about an hour and a half.

Before You Go, Tips & Guide

The Cachoeira Santa Barbara is located at a distance of around 30 kilometers from the town of Cavalcante. The only way to reach the waterfall is through a drive on the dirt road. The car drops the guests at a certain point from where you’ll have to go down on a six-kilometer long trail. You can either walk or pay a small transfer fee. If you want to witness the clear water and less crowds, try to visit between 11 am and 1 pm. The sun will be right over you, so make sure to wear sunscreen to avoid sunburn. The price to enter the waterfall area is about $4 per person.
